"In Creative Writing Class, the
instructor offers an exercise to stimulate the students' imaginations and they
are given a fixed amount of time to write. Any student who wishes may then read
what has been written to the others, who comment only on that which they
appreciate about the writing. This both encourages the writer and teaches the
listener to learn what makes a piece of writing vital and alive..."
